The Spokesman-Review

MOSES LAKE – Spokane relievers Chris Vitus and Mark Purser slammed the door and the RiverHawks held off the defending champion Moses Lake Pirates 6-5 in West Coast Collegiate Baseball League play on Saturday at Larson Field.

Vitus picked up the win for the RiverHawks (2-0) after retiring all five batters he faced, four by strikeouts. Purser entered in the ninth and allowed only a two-out infield single to notch the save.

Spokane won on the road for the second straight day. Last season the RiverHawks were 4-17 in road games.

The three-game series concludes today. Moses Lake is 0-2.
