Elderly man in morning crash identified

A man crashed into parked trailer after suffering a medical condition while driving near the intersection of Nevada Street and Empire Boulevard this morning. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Tommy V. Luce, 73, drove over a concrete median and hit a trailer and an unoccupied truck in a parking lot near the intersection about 5:15 a.m., said Spokane police Officer Teresa Fuller. Luce had just pulled out of the parking lot of the nearby 7-Eleven, Fuller said. “He’d just bought a big ol’ cup of coffee and doughnut,” Fuller said.
