The League Office of Arena Football One announced today that the league has been approved to purchase the former Arena Football League’s (AFL) assets.

Included in the assets purchased are all of the former AFL and former af2 team names and logos. AF1 Teams located in former AFL and af2 markets now have the option to adopt the former AFL and af2 team name and logo.

The Arena Football One League will commence its inaugural season in spring 2010.

•The Spokane Shock of Arena Football One have added defensive lineman Bryan Save, quarterback Chris Crane and defensive back Al Phillips to their 2010 roster, the team announced Tuesday.

Save, 6-foot-1 and 295 pounds, is a former teammate of Shock coach Rob Keefe when both played for the Philadelphia Soul of the AFL.

Crane (6-5, 238 pounds) played for Boston College. Phillips (5-11, 195 pounds) played for Wagner College and was a starter for the Manchester Wolves of the af2 last season.

Golf

The Spokane Golf Show will be held Feb. 20-21 in the Spokane Convention Center.

The show will include seminars, retailers, area and regional golf courses and new equipment. Tickets will be available in January at all Tickets- West Outlets or online at spokanegolfshow.com.

Whitworth sophomore Rory Buck was named Northwest Conference student-athlete of the week after qualifying for the NCAA Division III championships in the 200-yard breaststroke at Saturday’s short course national championship in Federal Way, Wash.
