Feds to fund security cameras at Spokane airport

Federal economic recovery funds will pay for new closed circuit television systems at Spokane International Airport designed to improve security. Gov. Chris Gregoire said the state’s second largest commercial airport will receive $1.1 million of the total $7.7 million that was available for national distribution. Closed circuit television systems are used at airports across the country. The Transportation Security Administration has collaborated with 62 airports to expand these systems to increase safety for airport facilities and employees.
