WSU Education dean Judy Mitchell dies

PULLMAN — Judy Nichols Mitchell, who was dean of the Washington State University College of Education for the past 11 years, has died. Mitchell was 70 and died this weekend at her home in Pullman. Mitchell was the universitys longest-serving dean and a leader on state and national education issues. She oversaw the Department of Teaching & Learning, and the Department of Educational Leadership & Teaching Psychology on all four WSU campuses. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
