Stabbing suspect surrenders to police

The Spokesman-Review
A 15-year-old girl suspected of stabbing a man during a Friday night fight in north Spokane has turned herself in to police. She was arrested for first-degree assault and booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center. The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Spokane Police received reports of a street fight in the 1100 block of East Hoffman Avenue. Callers said at least four people were involved, including a man in his early 20s who received a stab wound to the upper body. The others fled when the police arrived. The Spokane Police Department, police dogs and Spokane County Sheriff’s air unit conducted an extensive search of the area. They were able to learn the suspect’s name. About two hours later, the 15-year-old contacted police and surrendered.
