Coeur d’Alene students will be awarded for their academic excellence and hard work on Wednesday at Lake City High School at 6:30 p.m.

Students will receive letters for their academic achievement as part of the Renaissance Academic Lettering Program, rewarding juniors and seniors who have maintained at least a 3.75 grade-point average.

The purpose of the program is to recognize and reinforce intellectual greatness in the Coeur d’Alene high schools.

National Honor Society members also will be recognized at the event.

Parents, friends and members of the community are invited to attend.

School food drive benefits St. Vincent

Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy is doing its part to help the hungry.

Students are conducting a food drive, collecting nonperishable items for St. Vincent de Paul. The students will be collecting food until noon on Nov. 24.

Grade levels will compete against one another. According to information on the school’s Web site, the middle school is competing for an ice cream party and the high school is competing for a pizza party. The grade level that contributes the most food by weight will win.
