Overview: The Pirates take the longest football road trip in school history, a 1,775-mile venture to Abilene, Texas, to face the fifth-ranked Cowboys. The Cowboys’ prolific offense is directed by senior quarterback Justin Feaster, who passed for 3,023 yards and 31 touchdowns last season. He also had a team-high eight rushing touchdowns. Hardin-Simmons lost twice in 2008 by a combined five points to Mary Hardin-Baylor, the latter in the D-III playoffs. Whitworth returns eight starters on offense and eight on defense.
