In three matchups of 4A vs. 3A football teams in the Greater Spokane League Friday, 4A teams asserted their dominance in big wins over their smaller counterparts.

University 52, Rogers 12: The Titans (3-1, 3-1) opened their game with 28 unanswered points against the 3A Pirates (1-3, 1-2) in a victory at Albi Stadium.

Tony Tabish completed 7 of 11 passes for 176 yards, hooking up with Aaron Blaska and Brandtly Thorton in the end zone to set the tone for the Titans, and John Wright took the ball 14 times for 154 rushing yards, scoring twice.

Lewis and Clark 48, East Valley 15: The Tigers (2-2, 1-2) found their stride, winning their first league game by beating the host Knights (2-2, 2-2).

Jeff Livingston spread the ball to five receivers, connecting on 10 of 13 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns to three different targets in the opening half for LC.

Levi Taylor and Trent Robinson did the rest, helping the Tigers break open the running game for 249 total yards and three touchdowns.

Jackson Romney passed for a pair of TDs for the Knights.

Mead 59, North Central 7: Andy Wetzel threw for two TDs and 133 yards and six ballcarriers reached the end zone for the Panthers (2-2, 2-2) against the Indians (0-4, 0-4) at Albi Stadium.

The Panthers’ starting defense was nearly impenetrable, allowing one first down through 21/2 quarters. Mead gave up just 102 yards of total offense.
