Kirkpatrick a finalist for top Seattle job

Spokane police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick is one of 11 finalists to lead Seattle’s police force. Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn’s office released the list Monday in a news release. The finalists will be interviewed May 8 by McGinn’s chief search committee. Other candidates include the police chiefs of Des Moines, Iowa; Sacramento, Calif.; East Palo Alto, Calif.; and Lawrence, Mass. There are also three internal candidates, including interim Seattle Chief John Diaz. Kirkpatrick announced earlier this year that she would apply for the job.
