CdA officer hurt after avoiding wrong-way driver

A Coeur d’Alene Police officer scraped his arm Sunday after he swerved to miss an alleged drunk driver on Interstate 90 and crashed into a concrete barrier. Jodi L. Warner, 43, of Post Falls, faces charges of excessive DUI and leaving the scene of a crash, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. About 9 p.m., the officer was eastbound on I-90 responding to a domestic violence call when he saw a vehicle headed toward him in his lane, police said. The officer had to swerve to miss a head-on collision. The wrong-way driver crashed into a guard rail near Atlas Road soon after the near-collision, police said. Warner was arrested at the scene.
