Recovering Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller has returned to his Cleveland home following surgery to have a pacemaker implanted. The 91-year-old Feller has been undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in August.

Committed First baseman Trevor Gretzky, son of hockey great Wayne Gretzky, committed to play baseball at San Diego State. He hit .341 with 33 RBIs last spring at Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian High.

Hired Former coach and general manager of the WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs, John Whisenant, was hired to fill both roles for the New York Liberty.

Apologized North Carolina receiver Greg Little apologized for his actions that led to the NCAA declaring him “permanently ineligible” amid an investigation into agent-related benefits. Little released a statement through the school, apologizing to teammates, coaches, alumni and fans for “letting them down” and said he was “terribly remorseful.”

Out Tight end Kyle Rudolph, one of Notre Dame’s best players and top NFL prospects, is finished for the season. The 6-foot-6, 265-pound junior needs surgery after severely injuring his hamstring and his recovery could take six months.
