Temperatures linger in upper 80s

Clear skies and seasonably warm temperatures will continue in the Spokane area throughout the week. Today will be sunny with a high near 86 degrees and a south wind around seven miles per hour. Tonight is expected to be mostly clear, with a high around 55 degrees. Tonight there will be a west wind about six miles per hour, while Thursday will have an east wind about six miles per hour, becoming a north wind at night. Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 91 degrees. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low around 59 degrees. The remainder of the week will see clear skies in the Spokane area, and temperatures will likely linger in the high 80s. “Basically, at this point it looks like temperatures are going to be flirting right around 90 degrees, upper 80s to right around 90,” said Meteorologist Colby Neuman. In Coeur d’Alene, today will be sunny with a high near 86 degrees, but Thursday has a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. and before 11 p.m. However, Neuman said, the threat of showers and thunderstorms in Coeur d’Alene is small; chances are greater east of Coeur d’Alene, in the Palouse region and south.
