Deer Park store robbed of OxyContin at gunpoint

A gunman robbed a Deer Park pharmacy of OxyContin about 4:40 p.m. today. The man handed an employee at the Medicine Shoppe, 11 E. H St., a note demanding the powerful prescription pain killer while displaying a silver pistol tucked in his waistband, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. The robber left the pharmacy with a quantity of the drug and ran across the street to the back of the Salty Dog restaurant. No vehicle was seen, and no injuries were reported. The culprit is described as 5-foot-6 to 5-foot7, tall and clean shaven. He wore a dark blue or black wool-type coat (possibly a Navy pea jacket) and a dark knit cap. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
