North Central piled up seven pins, capped by back-to-back pins by Johnny Brown (106 pounds) and Nathan Boucher (113), to knock Central Valley from the unbeaten ranks with a 42-40 Greater Spokane League wrestling win Thursday at CV.

The Indians (3-1) began the night with a 24-0 lead after four pins, including Cody Kiourkas (145) and Bryson Pierce (160) winning late in the third round. CV (3-1) stormed back and trailed just 30-24 before Brown’s pin.

The Bears won the last three matches, but NC’s Jacob Clute (132) avoided a pin in the final match, a 19-6 major decision by Colton Orrino.

Mead 56, Shadle Park 13: Jeremy Golding’s 24-9 technical fall at 145 started a streak of five consecutive wins that sealed the win for the visiting Panthers (4-0) over the Highlanders (0-4). Tyler McLean (152), Chandler Rogers (160), Sam Voigtlander (170) and Jordan Rogers (182) followed Golding’s win with first-round pins.

Rogers 46, Lewis and Clark 29: Anthony Rider’s 4-2 win over Ryan Leslie at 285 provided the big boost as the visiting Pirates (2-2) toppled the Tigers (0-4).

University 58, Gonzaga Prep 12: Pins by Seth Dunn (113), Dane Frobe (132) and Connor Douglas (138) during a spree of six consecutive wins helped the host Titans (4-0) topple the Bullpups (0-4).

Mt. Spokane 61, Ferris 18: The visiting Wildcats (3-1) started with six consecutive wins, including pins by Jayden Meyer (120), Kader Schauer (132) and John Hoover (145) to turn back the Saxons (1-3).

Great Northern League

East Valley 57, Medical Lake 15: Jeffery Dean (220) and Michael Tschritter (285) began the night with first-round pins as the visiting Knights cruised past the Cardinals.

Post Falls 55, Bishop Manogue 46: Luke Thoreson and Marcus Colbert combined for 33 points, with Thoreson hitting 3 of 4 on 3-pointers, as the Trojans (4-0) defeated the host Miners.

Coeur d’Alene 61, Stanwood 52: Deon Watson scored 10 of his 13 points in the first half, when the Vikings (2-1) built an 18-point lead that allowed them to cruise past the host Spartans. Ty Higbie scored 17 points for CdA.

Colville 52, Lakeland 50: Matt Hubbard’s three-point play with 3 seconds left gave the host Indians (5-2) a win over the Hawks (2-4). Hubbard finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds.

Pullman 55, Moscow 40: Corey Langerveld scored 19 points, hitting 9 of 12 field goals, and Brady Barrett hit 8 of 10 free throws to score 16 as the host Greyhounds (4-1) beat the Bears (4-3). Pullman’s Ben Pavish had eight rebounds.

Medical Lake 61, Timberlake 36: Austin Garza scored 28 points, hitting four 3-pointers in the first half, as the visiting Cardinals (2-5) beat the Tigers (4-2) at Spirit Lake. Garza shot 10 of 11 from the field and 4 of 4 from the line.

Valley Christian 68, Cusick 59: Craver Small’s 26 points powered the visiting Panthers (5-0) past the Panthers (3-3). Cusick’s Alec Bluff scored a game-best 28 points.

Moscow 45, Pullman 37: Chloe Quinnett scored 13 points and Taylor Anderson scored nine of her 11 points in the second half as the visiting Bears (5-7) held back the Greyhounds (0-4). Pullman’s Emily Drake scored 11 of her game-high 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Lakeland 56, Colville 37: Darby Murray scored 14 points and the visiting Hawks (6-4) beat the Indians (3-2). Colville’s Ashley Knight had 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Timberlake 62, Medical Lake 40: Kara Wenstrom led three players in double figures with 19 points as the host Tigers (5-2) pulled away from the Cardinals (1-6) at Spirit Lake.

Cusick 60, Valley Christian 14: Nalene Andrews led three players in double figures with 13 points as the host Panthers (4-2) cruised past the Panthers (3-3).

Gymnastics

Alana Norman won the floor exercise (9.3 points) and the all-around (35.4) while leading Shadle Park to the team title during a five-way GSL meet at Rogers.

Hailey Barry took the balance beam (8.7) and finished second in the all-around (34.2) as the Highlanders scored 159.7 points for a comfortable margin on runner-up University (150.65). Lewis and Clark’s Lily Hoch won the uneven bars (9.3) and vault (8.5).
