Rogers a class act

Both of my kids play basketball for Gonzaga Prep. We recently went to Rogers to battle it out with the Pirates. When we walked in, we instantly noticed huge signs with all the players’ names on them decorating the halls. Not just their players, but they even had signs for G-Prep’s players. Their school was decorated with balloons and spirit signs and looked great.

During introductions, they dimmed the lights and used a spotlight on the players. Their band sounded awesome and their cheerleaders and dance team were great. They even collected money for Coaches vs. Cancer.

The biggest thing we noticed, however, was the students. Other high schools we have played recently have been crude and rude while yelling things at players. Not Rogers’ students. They cheered loud and strong for their team, but never once did I hear them cheer against us. They had class and were amazing.

Nice job, Rogers. Way to set an example.
