Knight breaks state record for 2-mile run

North Central sophomore Katie Knight broke the state record for the indoor 2-mile run with a time of 10 minutes, 29.72 seconds at the Brooks PR invite Sunday at the University of Washington’s Dempsey Center in Seattle. Knight finished ninth in the race.

Mead High senior Baylee Mires achieved the third fastest time in Washington state history in the girls 1-mile run with a time of 2:12.95, finishing third in the race.

North Central junior Vince Hamilton finished seventh in the 2-mile, with a time of 9:08.59, good for fourth all-time in the state. Mead sophomore Andrew Gardner finished in 9:09.47 for eighth place and fifth in state history. Lewis and Clark junior Kenji Bierig achieved seventh place in state history in the 1-mile run, finishing with a time a 4:14.33, good for fifth in the race. In the same race, NC senior Casey Adams finished ninth in 4:16.85.
