New faces

Jeanette Higgins has been hired as a licensed clinical psychologist for the Northwest Neurobehavioral Institute. She specializes in working in psychological assessment and individual therapy and completed doctoral training at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore.

Promotions

Winston and Cashatt Lawyers promoted Elizabeth Tellessen to principal. She has been with the firm since 2006.

Mike Castro has been promoted to director of brand services for Red Lion Hotels. He previously served as assistant general manager at the Red Lion River Inn and served as director of brand services for the company from 2002-07.

New position

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Spokane County named Dick Hanlin executive director. He previously served as executive director for clubs in Rogue Valley/Grants Pass, Ore., Portland and Alaska and has been with the organization for nearly 25 years.

Paul Holdaway has been named a shareholder of Wells St. John P.S. He has served as an associate attorney with the firm for the last four years.

Litehouse Inc. has named Jim Frank president and CEO. He has served as president since 2008 and has been with the company since 2006.

Steve Herling has retired as executive vice president and general manager of KXLY Broadcast Group after serving in the position for 28 years. He now serves as senior vice president of special projects for Morgan Murphy Media, located in the KXLY North Idaho Office in Coeur d’Alene. He has been with Morgan Murphy Media for 41 years.

Triumph Composite Systems raised $4,500 and 200 toys for the Toys for Tots drive.

Kudos

Chef Curtis Smith won $2,000 in the American Culinary Federation’s Make-It-Mini-Dessert trio competition, held during the ACF’s national convention in August 2010. Smith is an instructor at the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy at Spokane Community College.

The National Grocers Association presented Quinn Group with a “Best Television” award for the advertising agency’s latest series of commercials in its “Man Shopping Challenge” campaign.

Colin Conway, a commercial real estate agent and property manager with NAI Black in Spokane, has earned a Certified Leasing Specialist designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Appointed

KXLY Broadcast Group has appointed Teddie Gibbon as vice president and general manager. He previously served as vice president and station manager of KXLY-TV and has been with the company for 28 years. The company has also appointed Brian Paul to vice president and general manager of the KXLY Radio Group. Paul, who has been with the company since 1996, previously served as radio market manager and as general manager of KAPP-TV (Yakima) and KVEW-TV (Tri-Cities).

Elected

Nancy Nelson, president of Humanix, and Darla Sowl, Liberty Lake Branch manager for Spokane Teachers Credit Union, have been elected new members of the Spokane Valley Partners board of directors.
