No. 1 Duke loses to Florida State

25-game win streak ends

Associated Press
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Derwin Kitchen scored 22 points, Chris Singleton added 18 and Florida State snapped No. 1 Duke’s 25-game winning streak with a 66-61 victory Wednesday night. Florida State (12-5, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) made five free throws in the final 33 seconds to hold off the defending national champions. It was the third time in the last nine seasons that the Seminoles have upset a top-ranked Duke team at home. The Seminoles led 28-24 at halftime and by as many as 11 early in the second half, but the game was tight to the finish. Kyle Singler scored 20 points and Nolan Smith had 19 for the Blue Devils (15-1, 2-1), who shot just 31.1 percent. Kitchen, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, scored 17 points in the second half and led the Seminoles with a team-high 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
