Washington State Cougars outlook
RECORD: 13-5 overall, 3-3 Pac-10
COMING UP: Today vs. Arizona State, 7 p.m.; Saturday vs. Arizona, 7:30 p.m. (FSN)
OUTLOOK: After playing four of its first six Pac-10 contests on the road, Washington State has an opportunity to move up the Pac-10 standings with five of its next seven at home. First up is an ASU (9-8, 1-4) team that’s struggled with injuries (three starters have missed games) and poor shooting. Senior guard Ty Abbott, who disdained WSU for the Tempe sun, is the main outside threat, averaging 13.4 points per game and shooting 38.4 from beyond the arc. Arizona (15-3, 4-1), riding sophomore Derrick Williams (19.7 points, 7.3 rebounds), will face UW in a first-place showdown tonight before heading across the mountains.
