Jazmine Perkins hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points, including a key 3-pointer late, to lead Washington State (5-14, 3-4 Pac-10) to a 70-65 women’s basketball victory over Arizona State on Thursday at Tempe, Ariz.

WSU shot a season-best 53.2 percent (24 for 47) from the floor, including 11 of 17 on 3-pointers. Ireti Amojo also hit four 3-pointers for the Cougars, who notched consecutive road wins against ASU for the first time in school history.

The Sun Devils (11-5, 3-3) rallied from a 55-46 deficit with 7 minutes, 51 seconds left to within 60-58 with 1:36 remaining on Alex Earl’s 3-pointer. But Perkins made the fourth of her 3-pointers with 1:15 left to put the Cougars up 63-58.

Arizona 61, Washington 58: Davellyn Whyte scored 15 points as the Wildcats (12-5, 3-3 Pac-10) beat the Huskies (7-9, 2-5) at Tucson, Ariz., to snap a three-game losing streak.

Gonzaga 89, Santa Clara 53: Courtney Vandersloot had game highs of 21 points and nine assists as the host Bulldogs (16-4, 4-0 West Coast Conference) eased past the Broncos (6-12, 2-2).

Kayla Standish added 18 points, hitting 8 of 16 field goals, and had a game-best nine rebounds to lead the Zags’ 45-30 advantage. GU’s Meghan Winters hit four 3-pointers on the way to a career-high 14 points.

Eastern Washington 60, Northern Arizona 53: Brianne Ryan and Chene Cooper combined for 35 points on 13-for-25 shooting from the floor as the Eagles (7-9, 3-1 Big Sky Conference) held off the Lumberjacks (7-11, 2-3) at Flagstaff, Ariz.

Cooper added eight assists and Julie Piper had 10 rebounds to guide EWU’s 45-32 advantage.

San Jose State 63, Idaho 61: Sara Plavljanin had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists as the Spartans (1-16, 1-3) defeated the Vandals (9-7, 2-2) despite Yinka Olorunnife’s career-high 34 points and 13 rebounds.

North Idaho 70, Salt Lake 64: Kama Griffitts scored 22 points, hitting 7 of 16 from the field and 6 of 6 from the line, as the Cardinals (18-2, 4-2) won to tie the visiting Bruins (14-4, 4-2) for first place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.

NIC notched its eighth consecutive win. The Cardinals are 6-0 at home.

Men’s basketball

North Idaho 72, Salt Lake 59: Michael Hale III had 18 points and four assists as the Cardinals (18-3, 3-3) ran their home record to 13-0 by snapping the Bruins’ eight-game winning streak.

Tyrone White added 17 points and seven rebounds for NIC. Salt Lake (18-3, 4-2) had been 8-0 on the road this season.
