EWU beats Weber, will meet again in tourney opener

OGDEN, Utah — Jeffrey Forbes and Cliff Colimon each scored 17 points and Eastern Washington beat Weber State 75-59 on Wednesday to earn a rematch in the Big Sky Conference tournament quarterfinals. Cliff Ederaine added 16 points, while Colimon drained three big second-half 3-pointers to keep Weber State at bay shortly after the Wildcats’ Lindsey Hughey scored 11 points in 21/2 minutes to cut an 18-point halftime deficit down to four. Hughey finished with 21 points and Kyle Bullinger added 13. Weber State (17-11, 11-5) fell to the No. 3 seed in the Big Sky tournament and will host No. 6 Eastern Washington (10-19, 7-9) in Ogden on Saturday. Eastern Washington converted 23 Weber State turnovers into 29 points and held a 40-22 advantage at halftime.
