A 7-year-old boy was found safe at a friend’s house after police, school officials and other volunteers searched for him for about three hours. Ramon Canton did not show up for a ride home from his mother at 3 p.m. outside Whitman Elementary School, 5400 N. Helena St. Police asked for the public’s help finding him, then located him at a friend’s home just after 6 p.m.
