Winless Grambling State next for Cougars

PULLMAN – The Washington State men’s basketball team will try to get back on the winning track when it takes on Grambling State tonight at Friel Court.

Game time is 5:30 p.m. The game is the first of a Friel Court doubleheader. The second game, scheduled to start at 8, pits the No. 24-ranked (USA Today/ESPN coaches poll) Gonzaga (3-1) women against the WSU (4-3) women.

The WSU men (2-4) are coming off a disappointing showing last weekend at the 76 Classic tournament in Anaheim, Calif. The Cougars dropped all three tournament games, including the finale against UC Riverside.

Senior Faisal Aden leads the team with 17.0 points per game.

Junior post Brock Motum leads the team in rebounding with 7.0 per game and averages 15.2 points.

Grambling State (0-5) is coming off a 86-44 loss to Arkansas last Saturday.

The Tigers are coming off a 12-21 season and lost their top six scorers.
