Police investigating suspicious death

Spokane police are investigating a suspicious death on South D Street near the Finch Arboretum. A woman called 911 this morning to report she found a man dead in a house at 1302 S. D Street, said Officer Jennifer DeRuwe, a spokeswoman for the police department. The Spokane Fire Department initially responded to the call. Police followed and found “nothing to indicate it was a natural cause” of death, she said. Police executed a search warrant on the house in the early afternoon. DeRuwe said more information will be available tomorrow morning after an autopsy of the body. Neither the caller nor the dead man were identified.
