Emergency crews are resuming a search today for a missing Fairchild airman in the Bowl and Pitcher area of the Spokane River. James Adam Ramse-Lassiter, 26, went out on the river in an 11-foot canoe Saturday and hasn’t been seen since. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Team is devoting all available resources to search for the missing man between the Bowl and Pitcher and Long Lake, the agency said this morning. Members of the Spokane County Search and Rescue Team will assist in the search. Two jet boats and two jet skis also will be used. A command post for the search has been set up at Plese Flats, about one mile north of the Spokane Gun Club on North Aubrey L. White Parkway. Friends searched along the river Monday and found Lassiter’s truck parked at Riverside State Park, the Sheriff’s Office said. “Preliminary reports were that Lassiter did not have a helmet, life jacket or exposure suit when he went into the water,” the office said in a news release Monday. The search began Monday morning by boat, and Fairchild Air Force Base and the U.S. Border Patrol joined in with helicopters. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
