Obituary: Hlookoff, Mabel Anne

HLOOKOFF, Mabel Anne
June 6, 1939 -
April 20, 2012

It is with great sadness
that we announce that my wife, my best friend, partner in life and our mom, finally lost her courageous battle with cancer.
“Annie” leaves her childhood sweetheart of 58 years and devoted husband Mike, children Vicki (Derek), Randy, Shannon, grandson Robert (Mindy), great-grandson Trenton, and son-in-law Lance, brothers Eddie, Dennis (Joyce), sister Jeane (Joe), sisters-in-law Larissa and Pauline and many nieces and nephews.
Annie and Mike have enjoyed a huge circle of friends in Spokane, the Kootenay’s, Okanogan and around the world.

Mom’s kitchen has fed and loved thousands.

All who have graced their table have left full, happy and knowing the meaning of real friendship and their lives have been enriched.
Annie enjoyed a long and successful career in the Spokane schools nutrition service, where thousands of children enjoyed her great cooking and love.
Anne is pre-deceased by parents Veda and Chris Thorbergson.
A service honoring Anne’s life will be held Friday, April 27, 2012, at 12:00 noon, at the Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N Government Way.

A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s name can be made to Hospice of Spokane and will be greatly appreciated.
Annie will be deeply missed by all who knew her and we will
treasure her memories always.

She will be forever loved.
