Villanova basketball assistant resigns

Villanova announced that assistant basketball coach Doug Martin has resigned because of inaccuracies on his resume. Martin was hired as associate coach by Villanova head coach Jay Wright on Monday. Martin had been coaching at Paul VI High School in Virginia. He has also coached in the Continental Basketball Association. When he was hired by Villanova, the school issued a news release that said Martin had played for Wisconsin-Green Bay from 1991-95. ESPN.com first reported that there was no record of Martin playing for Wisconsin-Green Bay.
