Driver, passenger in fatal accident identified

From staff reports
A 23-year-old Post Falls woman was killed in a single-car accident early this morning in Post Falls. Yuri Raper was the passenger in a 2002 Chevrolet sedan being driven by Michelle Longstreet, 26, of Post Falls around 12:30 a.m. today, a news release from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said. The car was speeding east on Poleline Avenue when the driver lost control near Meyer Road, the release said. The car went off the road, hit a tree and rolled. Neither woman was wearing her seat belt and both were thrown from the car. Raper was pronounced dead at the scene; Longstreet is in critical condition at Kootenai Medical Center, the release said. The Sheriff’s Office Traffic Team is investigating. It is not known if alcohol was a factor.
