McAfee says he’s left Belize

MEXICO CITY – Software company founder John McAfee said Monday he has fled from Belize using a bizarre ruse.

McAfee claimed in a blog posting he had evaded authorities by staging an elaborate distraction in neighboring Mexico.

The eccentric anti-virus company founder is wanted for questioning in connection with the killing of fellow American expatriate Gregory Viant Faull, who was shot to death at the Belize island where they both had homes in early November.
