SWINBURNE, C.H.

“Hal”, Jr. (Age 91) Hal Swinburne passed away peacefully December 25, 2012 at the Touchmark (Waterford) Retirement Center in Spokane, Washington.

Hal was born August 5, 1921 in Charleston, West Virginia.

He grew up in Charleston, and while attending the University of West Virginia, he met his wife-to-be, Sybil Mohr.

Hal went into flight training, got his commercial pilot’s license, and was hired by Pan American World Airways.

He and Sybil married, raised two children, and lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Brazil, England, and Germany.

Hal retired after 38 years of service with Pan Am, which included military air support during World War II and the Vietnam War.

He and Sybil retired in Spokane in 1988.

Hal is survived by his wife Sybil, daughter Susan Shaw of Colbert, Washington, son Stephen Swinburne of Port Ludlow, Washington, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
