Colfax, Northwest Christian girls tie for second

Colfax and Northwest Christian both won Tuesday night and finished in a tie for second place in the Bi-County 2B League.

After a third-quarter meltdown, the Bulldogs regrouped and held off visiting Davenport 55-48. Rachel Robinson scored 12 points for Colfax.

Miranda Mielke exploded for 27 points – 19 coming in the second half – for the Gorillas, who outscored the Bulldogs 18-4 in the third.

Northwest Christian got 23 points from Hannah Dietzen and routed the host Chargers 63-27.

The District 7 2B tournament starts Thursday.

Reardan 49, St. George’s 24: Lauren Schulz made 3 of 4 3-pointers and finished with 16 points as the Indians (20-0, 16-0) beat the host Dragons (9-11, 8-8). Katy Burge added 14 points for Reardan.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 42, Liberty 26: Davi Killian led all players with 15 points as the Broncos (10-9, 7-9) beat the host Lancers (0-20, 0-16). Brittany Breidenbach and Jenna Galler grabbed a combined 17 rebounds for Liberty.

Idaho 4A Region I

Moscow 37, Lakeland 34: Taylor Anderson scored 12 points as the Bears (10-10) edged the visiting Hawks (13-11) to make state. Moscow outscored Lakeland 10-2 in the third quarter. Cieana Close made three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points for Lakeland.

Idaho 3A District I

Priest River 44, St. Maries 39: Steffie Pavey had two steals and four points in the final 1:20 as the Spartans (15-5) edged the visiting Lumberjacks (6-14) at Lakeland High in Rathdrum. Priest River will play Timberlake on Thursday in Rathdrum with the winner advancing to the state tournament. St. Maries will play Bonners Ferry in a loser-out game.

Timberlake 46, Bonners Ferry 40: Syndie Malloy led three players in double figures with 14 points as the Tigers (11-9) slid past the Badgers (8-12) in Rathdrum. Kara Wenstrom scored 12 points and Kelly Madsen added 11 for Timberlake.

GNL

Cheney 54, East Valley 45: Mandy McDowell and Mikayla Vergo scored 14 points apiece as the Blackhawks (9-10, 6-5) upset the visiting Knights (11-8, 7-4). Allie Brown added 11 points for Cheney, which led by nine points at halftime. East Valley got a team-high 11 points from Alicia Christiansen.

Clarkston 61, Deer Park 41: Sierra Higheagle and Jamie Weisner each scored 14 points as the Bantams (18-1, 11-0) beat the host Stags (11-8, 7-4). Kimmie Brazington led Deer Park with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

West Valley 51, Medical Lake 30: Natalie Noble scored 14 points as the Eagles (6-13, 2-9) took control from the opening tip and beat the visiting Cardinals (1-19, 0-12). Sabrina Earle led Medical Lake with 13 points.

Idaho IA Division I

Lakeside 53, Wallace 19: Tah-Wy-Ah Davis scored 13 points and the Knights (7-7) dominated the host Miners (6-8). Lakeside outscored Wallace 32-7 in the second half. The Knights will play in a winner-to-state, loser-out game Saturday at St. Maries High against the third seed from District II. The Miners were eliminated.

Nonleague

Lake Roosevelt 56, Oroville 24: Dominique Pleasants had 11 points, three assists and three steals and Jade BeSautel added 10 points and five assists as the Raiders topped the host Hornets.
