Coming up: Gonzaga Bulldogs

RECORD: 11-2 overall, 1-0 WCC

COMING UP: Tonight vs. Pepperdine, 6 (KHQ); Saturday vs. Santa Clara, 5 p.m. (Fox 28)

OUTLOOK: The up-and-down Waves (7-6, 1-1) opened WCC play by thumping San Francisco, then losing to Saint Mary’s by 29. Pepperdine appears to be improved but is still searching for consistency under first-year head coach Marty Wilson. The defensive-minded Waves (61.5 points allowed per game) rely on senior forwards Taylor Darby (12.1 ppg, 6.3 rebounds) and Corbin Moore (10.8 ppg, 8.8 rpg). Pepperdine lost some firepower with senior guard Lorne Jackson’s offseason torn ACL, senior guard Dane Suttle Jr.’s season-ending injury, guard Keion Bell’s transfer to Missouri and Mychel Thompson’s graduation to the NBA.
