Cheney wrestlers win
PULLMAN – Cheney won 12 of the 13 matches and routed Pullman 66-4 in Great Northern League wrestling Tuesday night.
The Blackhawks won two matches with pins in less than a minute. Cheney’s Josh Maio (220 pounds) pinned Pullman’s J.D. Hart in 47 seconds and the Blackhawks’ Elias Mason (160) pinned Kosey Smith in 50 seconds.
The closest match of the contest came at 152 pounds, where Cheney’s Josh Wessels earned a 8-5 decision over Pullman’s Matt Lyon.
Pullman got its lone win from Bailey Poitra at 145 pounds. Poitra earned a 15-4 major decision over Jake Baker.
