Two Fernwood residents dead after Monday accident

An Idaho couple died after the man lost control of his vehicle on snow-packed roads south of St. Maries around 8:30 p.m. Monday. James L. Sexton, 80, and Chloe L. Sexton, 74, both of Fernwood, were pronounced dead at the scene, the Idaho State Police reported. An ISP news release said the Sextons were traveling east on state Highway 6 near the Benewah/Latah county line when James Sexton lost control of the 1994 Chevrolet Blazer. The vehicle went off the road, over the embankment, hit a tree and flipped over, the ISP said. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the release said.
