Obituary: Spickard, Lyn

SPICKARD, Lyn

June 1st, 1942-July 3rd, 2012

Born in California to Robert Hal Christopherson and Eva Parry, Lyn lived and went to school in the Pacific Northwest before making a career in social justice in the Spokane, Washington area.

She eventually returned to the Seattle area and retired from the King County Probation Department where she worked tirelessly for the social well-being of her fellow citizens.

Throughout her life she was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a teacher, a real estate broker, a gardener, and a friend to all who knew her.

In the last years of life while living bravely with liver disease, she was the consummate hostest, welcoming the neighborhood into her garden or visiting with passer-bys outside her waterfront home.

She passed away quietly at her home, with loved ones at her bedside, on July 3rd.

She is survived by her mother, Eva and her son, Ryan.

A private memorial will be held to honor the life of this loving woman and the joy she brought to all her friends and neighbors.
