Kamiakin knocks Mt. Spokane out of 3A baseball

Kamiakin scored early and often Saturday and eliminated the Mt. Spokane Wildcats from the State 3A baseball tournament with an 11-2 win at County Stadium in Yakima.

State 2A

Cheney took a 2-1 victory over Ellensburg before being blanked 9-0 by East Valley-Yakima in a quarterfinal game at Davis High School in Yakima.

State 1A

Colville defeated La Salle 12-7 in Moses Lake before being eliminated in a 4-0 quarterfinal loss to Naches Valley.

Fellow Northeast A team Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) was eliminated by Kiona-Benton 13-0.

State 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline advanced to the state title game with wins over Lummi and Oakville.

The Warriors scored eight runs in the second inning and routed Lummi 20-4 in their first game.

Derek Isaak hit a home run and ACH beat Oakville 15-4 in the semifinals.

The Warriors will play for the state championship on Saturday in Ellensburg.
