Gonzaga sophomore Marco Gonzales was named the West Coast Conference’s Pitcher of the Year after he went 8-2 with a 1.55 earned-run average, the conference announced. Seniors Royce Bollinger and Alex Stanford, and junior Clayton Eslick also made the All-WCC team for the Bulldogs. Also: Washington State first baseman Taylor Ard and outfielder Derek Jones were selected to the All-Pac-12 Conference team, the conference announced. Ard, a redshirt junior, earned the award for a second consecutive season after collecting 12 homers and 50 RBIs. Jones, a senior, hit nine homers to become the Cougars’ all-time leader with 41.
