St. George’s, NWC win boys soccer subregionals

St. George’s and Northwest Christian earned spots in the State 2B/1B tournament with 2B subregional wins on Friday.

Ty Cowles-Meyer scored two second-half goals as St. George’s beat Riverside Christian 4-0 at St. George’s. Eric Kang and Camus Chapman also scored for the Dragons, who held a 17-6 advantage in shots.

Northwest Christian won 4-2 at Waitsburg-Prescott. Austin Friedly had a goal and an assist for the Crusaders, who scored three second-half goals.

St. George’s (13-2) and Northwest Christian (12-3) will play at 3 p.m. today in the championship match at Gonzaga Prep to determine seeding to state.
