College football: It’s been a rough couple of trips to Louisiana for the Idaho Vandals.

Just weeks after losing 63-14 at LSU, the Vandals returned to the Deep South on Saturday and were hounded 70-28 by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at Ruston, La.

Louisiana Tech amassed 839 yards in total offense.

Kenneth Dixon rushed for 232 yards and six touchdowns for the Bulldogs and Colby Cameron was 29 of 37 for 400 yards and two touchdowns passing.

Dixon’s six TDs broke Arry Moody’s 36-year-old single-game school record of five set against Northeast Louisiana in 1976. He has rushed for 16 TDs this season.

Kingma arrested in Pullman

COLLEGE BASKETBALL – Washington State guard Brett Kingma was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of unlawful possession of marijuana less than 40 grams, and minor exhibiting the effects of having consumed alcohol in a public place.

Pullman Police Sgt. Dan Dornes said police contacted Kingma in the Northeast 900 block of Monroe Street around 1:53 a.m. Saturday after Kingma was seen “staggering all over the sidewalk.”

It was determined that Kingma, who turned 20 in September, was intoxicated, Dornes said. Police also discovered Kingma to be in possession of “several grams” of marijuana.

Kingma was cited, booked at the Pullman Police station at 2:01 a.m. and released at 4:34 a.m.

A WSU spokesperson said coach Ken Bone is aware of the situation and will take appropriate action.

Kingma, a native of Mill Creek, Wash., transferred to WSU after playing his freshman season at Oregon. He is walking on this season for the Cougars, and is redshirting this year per NCAA transfer rules.
