Everett holds off Chiefs’ comeback

EVERETT – The Spokane Chiefs must be ready to get home. The road has not been kind.

Facing a U.S. Division opponent for only the second time this season, the Chiefs scored three times in the third period but fell 6-5 to the Everett Silvertips in Western Hockey League action.

Todd Fiddler scored twice and had an assist, Reid Gow scored one and assisted on two, and Connor Chartier finished with a goal and an assist.

Forward Mitch Holmberg was helped to the locker room in the first after Nick Walters checked his head into the boards. Holmberg was bleeding and did not return.

The Chiefs (9-5-0-0) play at Tri-City tonight. If Spokane wins, it will be tied with the Ams (9-4-1-1) atop the division.
