MASON, Charles William (Age 82) We say good-bye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Charles William Mason, who has returned home to live with his Heavenly Father.

He was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on April 11, 1930 to Andrew and Vivetta Mason and grew up in a family of seven siblings, three of whom survive him.

His family moved to Spokane during World War II and he later left there to serve two tours in the service of our nation’s military.

Returning to Spokane he joined the Iron Worker’s Union, became the Business Agent for Local 14 here in Spokane and then a Representative for the International Association of Iron Workers out of Washington D.C. Sixty-two years ago he married Winnifred Brickley and they had five children, three of whom, Lisa, Garth and Lynette, have preceded their father to the other side.

His wife, his remaining two children, Stephen Mason of Bellingham, WA and Terese Engstrom of Memphis, TN, along with some fifty-one grandchildren, spouses, and great-grandchildren will greatly miss his happy spirit and the ever present twinkle in his eye.

Along with golfing and caring for his yard he enjoyed children.

He kept his swimming pool warm and ready for the children in his Church Ward to swim every Wednesday summer afternoon for the past 30 years, he also was Cub Master to a pack of Cub Scouts in his eightieth year of life.

He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Memorial Service will be held at the LDS Chapel, 2112 W. Francis at 11:00 on Saturday, February 2, 2013.
