Slow starting Vandals dropped by Denver

Idaho scores a mere 14 points in the first half.

Jalen Love scored 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting including four 3-pointers and Denver used a big first half to seal the deal early against Idaho with a 74-58 win Saturday night. Love scored 11 of his first 22 points in the first 6 minutes of the game, capping a 15-4 run by Denver (15-8, 11-2 WAC) with his third 3-pointer. The Pioneers hit nine 3-pointers on the night and shot 56.9 percent from the field. Denver continued its offensive barrage in the first half to take a 36-14 lead at halftime and didn’t look back, leading by as many as 30 points in the second half. Chris Udofia had 13 points, four rebounds and four assists while Brett Olson had 11 points and five assists for the Pioneers. Stephen Madison scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Idaho (9-14, 5-8). Mike McChristian had 14 points and five rebounds.
