Coeur d’Alene hotel robbed this afternoon

Coeur d’Alene police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a hotel this afternoon. The Ameritel Inn in Coeur d’Alene was robbed around 1 p.m. today by two men who demanded cash from the front desk clerk, indicating they had a gun. The men ran east from the hotel, located at 333 W. Ironwood Drive, and were last seen near the Mountain West Bank parking lot on Government Way. Detectives arrested Christopher Michael Huckaby, 39, on a tip later in the afternoon, according to the police department. The investigation is continuing. The two men were described as follows:
  • Hispanic male, wearing a black hat, green jacket, blue jeans, carrying red backpack, 40 to 50 years of age.
  • Hispanic male, wearing a dark snow-type jacket, dark jeans, carrying a dark colored backpack, 40 to 50 years of age.
