Airway Heights prison locked down after fight

A fight involving approximately 16 inmates put Airway Heights Corrections Center on lockdown Sunday afternoon and sent one inmate to the hospital. A release from the Department of Corrections said multiple inmates began fighting around 4 p.m. in the walkway between two of the medium-security living units. “Staff members were required to use force to break up the fights,” the release said.
