Obituary: Mcgowan, Norma Jane Love

McGOWAN, Norma Jane Love “Jane” passed away in Spokane, Washington on May 31st, 2013 at 78 years old.

Jane was born in Canton, Illinois on November 13th, 1934 to Beaulah and Henry Aten.

Jane moved from Canton to Denver, Colorado to live with her sister Patricia and pursue a career in nursing.

After moving to Spokane, she met and married H. Bruce Love in 1956.

Though she did not work in the nursing field after marriage, she always had a passion for working with and helping other people.

Jane was active in the Spokane community.

She was involved in Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls and in various school activities in support of her children.

She also enjoyed crafts and sewing.

Jane participated in outdoor activities also including golf, skiing and snowmobiling.

In her later years, Jane enjoyed winters in Thousand Palms near Palm Springs, California.

Her husband Bruce died in 1984.

She married Dale McGowan in 1990.

Both men were Firefighters and marrying Dale expanded her circle of Firefighter friends.

Jane had a long career with credit unions in various roles at Medical Services and Spokane Railway (now Numerica).

Jane is survived by her husband, Dale McGowan, her children, Scott Love (Victoria), Melissa Wunsch (Mike) and Kelley McGowan and her grandchildren James Love, Daniel Love, Grace McGowan, Chris Wunsch, Scott Wunsch and Jessica Osborne.

A celebration of Jane’s life is to be held at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N Lincoln St, Spokane, WA 99201 on Sunday, July 14th, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm.
