Alcohol suspected in serious Moses Lake crash

From staff reports
A 67-year-old Moses Lake man is in critical condition after crashing his motorcycle in Grant County Tuesday evening. The Grant County Sheriff’s office reported alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Cliff Nicholas was northbound on Stonecrest Road Northeast just west of Neppel Road Northeast around 8:50 p.m. when he failed to navigate a curve, the sheriff’s office said in a release. He lost control of the 2005 Yamaha motorcycle and was thrown from the bike into a field. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being flown to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. He has head and chest injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Nicholas was wearing a helmet when he crashed.
