SMITH, Gregory Fraser Was born August 18, 1938 in La Grande, OR.

He entered peacefully into rest June 25, 2013 in Spokane, WA.

He graduated from Dayton High School in 1956.

He then graduated from Eastern Washington with a Business degree in 1960.

From there he spent many years working in advertising for many of Spokane’s radio and television stations.

Busy with many activities in his younger years he was active with the Lilac Festival and represented the organization in Seattle, Wenatchee and Whitefish, MT.

He enjoyed rallying with the Sports Car of America Club in the Spokane area.

He also enjoyed whitewater rafting.

With very little prompting he was a great story teller and loved amusing his great-grandchildren with tales of his youth and family history.

He had a gift for words and dabbled in writing to put those tales to paper.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wendell Byron Smith and Helen Jones Smith.

He is survived by his brothers Richard A. Smith and Jeffrey W. Smith, his children Deborah K. Smith, Kenneth B. Smith and Shelley L. (Todd) Pedersen, grand children Courtney (Todd) Fuchs, Brittney Pedersen, Kody Smith and great-grandchildren Sean, Kaidence, Ryleah, Tia and Layla Fuchs.

He is being interred at Spokane Memorial Gardens, arranged by Greg in direct response to his daughter’s threats to bury his ashes in the forest in empty Budweiser cans.

Despite the threat, he was loved unconditionally, forever and always, by that very same daughter and the rest of his family.

Service is 9:00 a.m., Thursday June 27, 2013.
