Spokane Police apprehended a man potentially connected with an early-morning homicide in Kennewick this evening at a northeast Spokane home. Police began their search around Standard Street and Lacrosse Avenue where a man identified as Grant Scantling, 41, may have been seen, police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said, but he was later caught at a home in the 2200 block of North Denver. Kennewick authorities named Scantling as a suspect in a homicide where a 21-year-old victim was found dead of what appeared to be a gunshot wound, according to a Kennewick Police news release. Police believe Scantling and the victim knew each other, the news release said. A warrant was issued for his arrest by Benton County with a nationwide bail of $1 million, according to the Washington Courts website. Eastern Washington authorities were notified of the incident had been looking for his car, a maroon 2000 Jeep Cherokee with the Washington license plate 594-XDH, the news release added.
