Spokane’s Sankey carries Huskies past Cougars

With Gonzaga Prep graduate Bishop Sankey leading the way, the University of Washington defeated Washington State 27-17 in Seattle on Friday to win the 106th Apple Cup. Sankey, who once committed to WSU but changed his mind, ran for 200 yards to become UW’s all-time leading rusher. The game marked the first time in the last decade that UW (8-4) and WSU (6-6) were both eligible for a bowl game. Find complete coverage in Sports, Page C1.
